PaCC works with nine partner organisations who provide services or support to parents of children with special needs or disabilities in Brighton & Hove.<\/h4><\/div>

Brighton Pebbles<\/b><\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Brighton Pebbles is a parent-led charity supporting families who have children and young people with disabilities. We support children of school age and above with any disability, but particularly welcome those with learning disabilities and\/or autism with behaviour that may be challenging.<\/p>\n

We offer a weekly after-school family drop in session, where we employ play workers to help engage the children in play activities, enabling parents to have a cuppa and a chat with others. We are not a childcare facility, so parents need to stay onsite during these sessions.<\/p>\n

We also arrange subsidised family activities and days out during school holidays and weekends and when possible, family holidays and activities for parents and for siblings.<\/p>\n

T21 <\/b> Brighton<\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]T21 Brighton & Hove offers friendship & support for children & young people with Trisomy 21\/Down Syndrome and their families. We run monthly preschool meet ups, info sessions, social & sporting activities. Our private Facebook group for parents\/carers and adults with T21 is our virtual HQ for sharing events, ideas and information. We look forward to meeting you!<\/p>\n

Amaze<\/b> parent groups and befriending<\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]Amaze parent groups and befriending service is for parents of disabled children. Offering a peer support service at point of diagnosis or crisis to emotionally support parent carers for up to six months flexibly.<\/p>\n

Fresh<\/b> Youth Perspectives<\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]Fresh Youth Perspectives (FYP) is a Parental Community Forum that supports families with challenges of youth wellbeing\/emotional mental health and all forms of social exclusion including school\/educational Exclusions. We believe in working in partnership with services to seek solutions and ensure our families voices are heard. We advocate when required and requested. We signpost. Presently we link with aspirational skilled mentoring for improved outcomes for our local Youth in the community and educational setting, in partnership with Mentivity<\/a><\/p>\n

mASCot<\/b><\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]m<\/span>ASCot is a parent led peer to peer support network for families who have an autistic child\/children or young person. mASCot brings families together and enables them to connect with others in similar situations as themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dads Group<\/b><\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]The Dads Group was set up 11 years ago in the hope of bringing fathers of children with additional needs and disabilities together, to meet and talk about issues that surround their family\u2019s lives. Most importantly, to engage with each other through general conversation and shared laughter with other dads who just get the tough situation that life has dealt to them and their families.<\/p>\n

The group holds a physical meeting on the last Thursday of every month at The Stoneham Pub, Hove<\/a>. Our lives can be hard, stressful and mentally draining at times, but there are other fathers in similar circumstances, so it can really help to get together and share experiences.<\/p>\n

If you feel like this group could help you or would like to get to know other dads who understand what it’s like, then come along or contact Darren for more information.<\/p>\n

CHSWG<\/b><\/h2>

Children\u2019s Hearing Services Working Group<\/h4><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]This locally based multi-agency group, includes parent representatives, working together to maintain and improve services for deaf children and their families. They aim to look at current provision for deaf children in health, education and social care, and to develop the range of services used to make them more effective and family friendly. Currently represented in the group are:- parents, new-born screening services, audiology, paediatrician, \u00a0sensory needs team, speech and language therapy, National Deaf Children\u2019s Society, and the community audiology service.<\/p>\n
