Early Years in Brighton & Hove

PaCC wanted to consult with parent carers of children aged 0-5 to find out about their early years experience and identify what their families need, and what is working well. PaCC was also interested in establishing whether there is a current need for a new Early Years parent carer support group, as some support groups are no longer in existence post-Covid.

Before the summer holidays, PaCC gathered feedback from parent carers about early years services and now we can share our Early Years Report with you allWe interviewed 11 parent carers of children aged 0-5 at the Jeanne Saunders Centre drop-in sessions, asking them what was going well for them, what the biggest issues were for their families, and what they thought would be helpful

We were also interested in establishing whether there was a need for a support group specifically for parent carers of children aged 0-5, and asked the interviewees to share their opinions on this too. We were so grateful to all the parent carers who took the time to speak to us and share their thoughts and experiences, because from these interviews, our Early Years Report contains recommendations we can now take forward and continue our work helping to improve the lives of our families.
