Introducing PaCC Steering Group member, Simeon
Name: I’m Sim (Simeon), a Brighton & Hove native.
Role within PaCC: I’ve recently become a part of the PaCC Steering Group as the representative for fathers.
Parent Carer Experience: I am the proud father of two incredible teenage daughters, one of whom has autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. I also have dyslexia and ADHD and attended a specialised school myself. Additionally, I have experience with other family members who have faced various challenges due to additional needs.
Having spent over 25 years as a full-time taxi driver in Brighton & Hove, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with many people in need of services throughout the city.
I’ve been actively participating in the Amaze Dad’s group for over two years now. It’s truly rewarding to come together with fellow dads on a monthly basis, all of us navigating similar day-to-day lives and sharing common challenges. The group, organized by Darren Walker, provides dads with the opportunity to open up, exchange knowledge about available support for both themselves and their families, and promote well-being in a relaxed environment—all while enjoying some friendly banter along the way. It offers a brief respite from the everyday struggles we undoubtedly face.
I’m thrilled and eager to leverage my experiences to support dads and caregivers on their journey. Through my work as part of the PaCC Steering Group, I’m committed to ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met.
